About Heather

Heather was born and raised in Edmonton.  She is a graduate of the Edmonton Public School System as well as of the University of Alberta and Dalhousie University.  She views Edmonton Public Schools as focal points for community development within Edmonton.

She is committed to community development in Canada and abroad.  Since 2004 she has run a very successful fundraising and awareness initiative for a community run school for orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia.  This work has deepened her understanding of the need for a strong public education system and ignited her passion to be on the Edmonton Public School Board.

Heather is a committed environmental and social justice advocate and has volunteered extensively for local organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and for global organizations such as Engineers Without Borders.
